  Introduction - Any Believers?

  i’ve been reading it for a few of years off and on, but have been a little too ... maybe ... timid to join.

  i left the watchtower organization almost 20 years ago but never abandoned my faith and belief in god.

  i knew the gb/organization didn’t represent god, so when i lost my faith in them, i managed to keep my faith in an all wise benevolent creator.

  What brought on my rant was the post by Bonsai 3 hours ago in regard to the CNN report about child who lost his life. WHY is the state not testing the rivers and lakes? The state I just moved from tested all swimming areas weekly.

  I work tirelessly for children with birth defects and children who get cancer none of these parents ever blame their Supreme Being they may pray a lot but they do not blame. I have a very good friend who's granddaughter is fighting leukemia right now, never once would they think to blame God. Research hopefully one day will tell us why and prevent more kids from going through all these dreadful birth defects and deceases. This is why I spend so much of my time doing charity work for the children.

  My grandson was born one side of his body is growing faster then the other. He will require multiple surgeries throughout his life we are not blaming God.

  My mother beat me as a child till I was 14 and I told her you touch me one more time you will pick your self off the floor lady. I did not blame for giving me a wicked mother I blamed all the alcohol she drank.

  God is not to blame look hard enough you will get to the root or the cause of the problem.

  Again that Bible was written by men and they ONLY claim it was inspired by GOD.

  Why is it that those of YOU who no longer believe in God seem to think you can blame God for all the bad things that happens in this world. It totally infuriates me when you claim to take a book written by a bunch of old men claiming it was inspired by God.

  I never once blamed God when my son died because a jerk of a man with a medical license who was also committing all kinds of insurance fraud at the time let him die from toxicimia and almost killed me in the process.

  I never blamed God when I was diagnosed with bladder cancer BUT did find out five years later that some jerks one set of which buried lead based ammunition on a hill which every flipping time it rained dumped tons of lead right into my drinking water. Second set of jerks the city water authorities LIED to us for years about the amount of lead in our drinking water. NOW, this explained the very high concentration of bladder cancer in our neighborhood.

  I do not blame God for these rediculous migraines I get all the time, chemicals, perfumes, colognes, foods, medications and things in the environment.

  God did not write that book just some men claim it was inspired by him.

  Men create wars not God. Humans with guns cause others to get killed or injured not God. I had a good friend leave the Pulse just 2 hours before that horrible incident because he is just getting over his 2nd round of adult leukemia. He never blamed God for his leukemia.

  If God had created Religion there would have been one Religion thus there would not have been all these wars.

  That Bible was written by men intended to give men power over women and children -- if you still have those beliefs go somewhere else cause this lady WILL NOT tolerate those backwards views!! Here in the US women were given equal rights a very long time ago. I have lost count as to male victims who have fallen prey to violating my women's rights.

  UPDATE: My existential crisis comes to a close

  in case you read my other thread regarding my existential crisis and how it was making my life miserable and left me feeling hopeless, purposeless and joyless i though i'd share what's recently happened to me and my way of thinking and have i've for the time being resolved my existential crisis.

  i write every day in a journal.

  i've been doing this for years.

  i'm a middle aged man.

  i dated a jw lady for 3 months ., we never had sex, just made out , half naked , well everything except underwear .

  she has been a jw for 40 years ., was married to a jw but he committed adultery 13 years ago so they divorced .

  someone, somehow, has figured out that im a member of this site and - rather than speak to me - has promptly reported me to the elders.

  i just feel sad for my daughter.

  Also, to add to my prior post I believe I remember reading a thread one day that stated they had sent a letter to the BOE that read something to the effect that if you read out my name as no longer a JW I will sue each one of you personally for defermation of character (I think that is the term, sorry I have one if my headache )

  Never a JW so sorry you are having to go through this. After reading this forum for over a year and being the natural fighter that I am I would hire a lawyer stop communication with any of the Elders let the lawyers deal with those jerks. From what I understand that pretty much stops the process.

  I think the lawyer might also be willing to send a gentle reminder to SIL how what she did is actually against the law with a little note considering you are my SIL I wI'll not take action against you BUT for further reference just think again.

  had a great turn out today protesting against the baptist minister who praised the orlando massacre.

  my best guess is there were around 1,200 of us there.

  it was an entirely peaceful protest as we chanted "love conquers hate" and "we are orlando".

  Why can't ex-JW do a peaceful protest outside of the RC bringing attention to the pedophile problems? They organized this in one week.

  as one member said, nonbelievers pounce on any semblance of belief like piranhas on prey.

  as former jws we should have had our fill of judgmental know-it-alls, but here we are.

  I have caught far to many men of the cloth lying. Two committed adultery. The JW "Elder" lied to me for a solid 5 years. And numerous others. One minister showed up at the hospital claimed he was my minister just to find out why I was in the hospital, that was when I lost my child - none of his damn business.

  My church I was a member for 40 years never showed up when I had cancer.

  My best girlfriend is the highest ranking Elder in her church and Ordained Minister she knows how I stand on God, religion and how spiritual I am and not once has she asked for an explanation.

  Never a JW, I come from an organization that when applying for membership the question is asked "Do you believe in a Supreme Being?" After that question is asked and once you are a member there are a few guidelines that all members do RESPECT at all times we never discuss Religion, Politics or Business as we are there to do charity work and we come from all walks of life and so we show utmost respect for each other. We have almost all religions, political parties and businesses represented. Women's and Youth organizations are highly regarded and given very powerful positions, they are treated with the upmost respect.

  Cofty and Simon, It is very hard for me to explain my beliefs it does not come from a book. Believer called it a 6th sense. I was raised, baptized, confirmed and married in the Lutheran Church. I have read several books over the years but 3 books left lasting impressions. 35 years ago I lost my son, I read "Why Bad Things Happen To Good People". This is why I do not blame God when things happen. It was the doctor that messed up and when my records were transferred the new doctor stated if you go to court I will testify on your behalf. Second book, The Shack. Third book, You Don't Want to Go to Church Anymore.

  What I believe comes from no textbooks just from the heart.

  I believe if God had created Religion there would only be one religion thus all these religions are man made. How many wars would have been avoided?

  I believe God is love. I believe God wants us all to get along and love one another.

  I want to believe that God created all the beauty this earth to offer and aLL the beautiful voices people have when they sing praise to him.

  I have not had an easy life but I have been blessed with many joys in my life.

  God has carried me during the tough times and walked with me through the good times.

  Ps I do not believe in the Bible anymore
